The Road to Becoming a CA
- John Tempest, CASB Student
Working at BVA was the first step in my professional career and I firmly believe one of the better choices I have made upon my journey to achieving my designation. BVA has offered me many of the amenities of a large firm while still providing me with that small firm feel. All members of management at BVA are not only approachable, but genuinely care about your success as a young professional. All partners and staff members have an open door policy and are always willing to help you out, no matter the time of day.
BVA is actively involved in the community. We have volunteered with the Santa Claus Fund and the United Way Foundation. BVA also has a very active social committee that keeps all of its members having fun at work! The committee organizes volunteer events, celebrates birthdays and personal achievements, organizes staff functions and many other workplace activities.
Finally, one of the deciding factors of why I chose to work at BVA is its 'mentorship' program. Here a CASB student is paired with a member of the staff who provides you with feedback on your CASB evaluations as well as tips and tricks to achieving success. They also help you out even further by offering feedback on practice exams and tasks, all preparing you for success in achieving your designation.
BVA is a firm that sees the big picture; it offers small firm feel with close knit staff members and social functions, while offering its staff numerous opportunities to grow and succeed.
